Macclesfield Cancer Help Centre
About Us

We have been open at the Prestbury Methodist Church since September 2004. We are a Registered Charity number 1114293.

Our Aim

We provide a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and on your first visit you will be able to speak to one of our therapists who will explain what the Centre has to offer. We also welcome family, friends and carers who are supporting you, as we recognise that they too may need support.

We believe that all cancer care should take into account not only physical care but also mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person. By offering counselling, complementary therapies and relaxation we hope to support you and help you cope at every stage of the cancer journey.

The centre does not aim to replace any of the treatments offered by your doctor or the hospital, nor will it conflict with any of your medical care. We intend that our services will work in harmony with whatever course of treatment you are having.

Our Approach

When you visit us you will find a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Your first appointment will be with one of our therapists who will explain what the Centre has to offer. This will enable you to choose how best we can be of help to you.

Any course of treatment will be reviewed after a period of time to assess that you are receiving the most appropriate therapy.

MCHC COVID-19 GUIDANCE

MCHC has promoted a COVID-19 Guidance for its Team and Clients throughout the pandemic. This has been reviewed regularly and we have now reached a point where we need a Guidance Statement which we will implement for the foreseeable future. MCHC’s Policy is:

1. If you consider yourself, or are considered to be, vulnerable, please wear a mask when you visit the Centre. SELF PROTECTION. We will always carry a stock of masks.

2. If you have any of the NHS identified COVID-19 symptoms, tested or non-tested, then please do not attend the Centre. PROTECTING OTHERS. If you have a pre-booked appointment, this can be re-scheduled at short notice. NHS guidance can be seen at their website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-people-whose-immune-system-means-they-are-at-higher-risk

3. We will continue with hygiene facilities and open windows to help the flow of fresh air.

With your cooperationand support we can support and look after each other while at MCHC.
